Neodymium magnets are the permanent type rare
earth magnets
having super magnetic field. As compared to any other types of permanent
magnets, the strength of this material is outstanding. Due to its super
magnetic strength it is widely used in the various advanced application in the
world of technology. You can find the use of Neodymium magnets in
electromagnetic generators and motors, in hard drives, in wind turbine and so on.
Neodymium magnets are the strong
permanent magnets made from an alloy of neodymium, which is a composition of
boron and iron. The magnetic field of the material is very high and it is
almost impossible to get demagnetization.
While on the contrary this Neodymium
magnets are very sensitive to soaring temperatures. They are brittle in nature.
Due to this shatter and corrode nature generally they are sold with some kind
of protective plating.

The main hazard associated with Neodymium magnets is nothing but its strength or magnetic field only. That is
why it is sold with the warning level. The warning level is the risk of danger.
If the magnet is mishandled it may cause serious injury or often cause death to
human. If someone caught between two strong magnet then it can break the bones
of may tear the skin of the person.
Further if smaller magnets are
swallowed by small children in any way may take their life. If more than one
magnet is swallowed then there is a chance for the intestine wall to get
damaged from the magnetic power of the material. So it is advisable to keep the
magnet out of the reach of the small kids.
Other health hazards of using Neodymium magnets are that
medical electronics don't have the ability to withstand magnetic fields. A
pacemaker does not work well with the presence of magnet. Any electronic
devices cannot withstand with the magnetic field. It causes harm to your
watches, iphone and headphones as well.
So to conclude it can be said that Neodymium magnets are
successfully used in the segments as medical, industrial, educational as well
as in fashioning tools. Neodymium magnets are very much fragile, that means
there is a chance of break or loss of magnetism if exposed to heat.
